February Newsletter - Dance is for EveryBODY

Here at Team Belly, Set, Go, we believe in the undeniable transformational power of DANCE. Dance has brought us joy, community, and self esteem in the times we've needed them most, and we are passionate about everyone having access to these benefits!  

We believe in YOU, and know that you joining us here was a huge step in the right direction of your own goals! So our rhinestoned hats off to you, you showpony, you!  

On the flip side, we know that at times dance can feel isolating and lonely. People feel unsure and not seen.   

This month's newsletter was originally going to be about body love. We know, we know..... how cliche! But with some of the things popping up in our dance community (and really the world), regarding who is allowed in what space, we wanted to renew and make more public our commitment to our motto:    Dance is for EVERY body.   

On each individual's dance journey - it is not always easy to find dancers that you can see yourself in. We believe that diversity in dance is not only beautiful but essential! We see you, we WANT you, and you deserve to be here! Dancing your beautiful hearts out!   We created a youtube play list for you, that we hope shines more light on the beauty of diversity and how good it feels to be able to identify with someone who looks like you. Representation is important.   We tried to feature dancers in the belly dance and burlesque worlds who are:   Male Dancers Dancers of Color Trans or Gender Non Binary Dancers And all different body types.

This is by no means a comprehensive list and we would love your suggestions for additions!   So please SHINE on! And SHARE on! You never know who you might be inspiring to be a little bit more themselves and accepting of who they are! We are the most powerful when we are living and dancing as our authentic selves. There is only one YOU. And you are awesome.
